What does Invisalign treatment entail?

Once you are ready to straighten your teeth with clear Invisalign aligners, one of our trained orthodontic assistants will take a scan of your teeth using our iTero® 3D scanner. Dr. Kadavy will use the 3D scan and the software to create your new smile and place your teeth in the correct position. Invisalign will manufacture the clear aligners based on Dr. Kadavy’s treatment plan and ship them to the office.

Once we have the aligners in office, we will schedule an appointment to place the clear aligner attachments on your teeth and go over instructions for how to wear the aligners. We will see you back at routine intervals to check your progress while making necessary adjustments to your teeth, the aligners, and your treatment plan. 

What issues can Invisalign treat?

Invisalign clear aligners can treat several types of bite problems and cosmetic concerns. As a specialist in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, Dr. Kadavy is highly trained to use Invisalign to address an assortment of problems, including:

How long do I need to wear my aligners?

Aligners need to be worn for 22 hours per day to get the desired result. Only remove them to brush, floss, eat, and drink anything other than plain water.

How often do I change my aligners?

Dr. Kadavy will have you change aligners every one to two weeks depending on the type of tooth movements needed to straighten your teeth and fix your bite. Every case is unique and may require different time intervals between aligners. Dr. Kadavy will determine what the optimal time between aligners will be for your specific case.

How often do I need to visit Kadavy Orthodontics?

You will need to visit our orthodontic office for short appointments during Invisalign treatment so Dr. Kadavy can check on treatment progress, fix any problems that may arise, and check on the health of the teeth and gum during treatment. Once of the nice things about Invisalign is it allows for more flexibility of time between appointments to help accommodate your schedule.

Can I switch to Invisalign if I already had traditional braces?

If you previously had braces as a child, teen, or adult but stopped wearing retainers and your teeth have moved, Invisalign can be a great option to move teeth back into alignment without having to put braces back on. 

How do I know my treatment is working?

Your teeth will move in small increments as you progress through each set of aligners. Dr. Kadavy will have created a unique treatment plan to make sure your teeth are moving in an efficient and safe manner.
